UMD English Masters Alum and former lecturer, Kara Pleasants, recently published her first novel Disenchanted with Quills and Quartos Publishing.
UMD English Masters Alum and former lecturer, Kara Pleasants, recently published her first novel Disenchanted with Quills and Quartos Publishing.
The novel, which combines elements of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice with magic, was originally 13 years ago when Kara was an undergraduate at UMD. English classes including the late Professor Grossman’s course on Hamlet and Emeritus Professor Verlyn Flieger’s Arthurian legends course, Kare says, "were large influences."
