Commencement Information

The Spring 2024 English Department commencement ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 9 a.m. in the Reckord Armory.

Information will be emailed to graduates as it becomes available.

General Information

If you will not have all degree requirements (for ARHU, General Education, the major, and the university) completed at the end of your graduating semester, you may not participate in the main university commencement ceremony.

However, you may request permission to participate in the English Department ceremony if you have 6 or fewer total credits remaining in order to graduate. Contact the English Advising Office for the required application.

Remember, though, you will not officially graduate (be awarded your diploma) until all of your requirements are completed and all outstanding obligations to the university have been met. Also, note that while degrees are issued in August, December, and May, commencement ceremonies are only held in May. Students earning their degrees in August and December are invited to the ceremonies the following May. Students completing graduation requirements during a January winter term will earn their degrees the following May.
