Afriasia is a double major in English and Communication.

Why did you decide to become an English major?

I decided to become an English major because I love writing and reading and wanted to find a way to make a career out of it.

What is something you read in an English course that impacted your worldview?

The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers.

What skills (professional, creative or other) do you think you’ve gotten from the major?

Business writing, analysis, persuasive writing, planning/organizing.

What is your dream job or career?

My dream job is to be an award-winning author and my back-up dream is to own my own PR firm.

What are you passionate about (or even curious about)?

I'm passionate about the representation of minorities in media (i.e., books, movies, and TV shows).
