Sarah earned an M.A. in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Maryland (2008). She currently serves as Faculty Fellow for the Professional Writing Program and teaches courses in technical writing, science communication, narrative nonfiction, writing pedagogy, and literature. Her research interests include professional and technical communication, multimodal composition, rhetoric of science and technology, teaching as improv, writing and cognition, and antiracist pedagogy. Current projects include comics for teaching about sex and gender; communication methods of engineers and project managers at NASA Goddard; and understanding writing anxiety. She has presented her work at Feminisms and Rhetorics, Conference on College Composition and Communication, and Rhetoric Society of America. Sarah is also a doula, circlekeeper, and conflict coach.
