Kivel is a storyteller, daydreamer, and organizer whose fiction centers the experiences of Black working class people across time and realities. She uses speculative elements to interrogate ugly truths, conjure possibility, and challenge people to dream and fight in new ways. When she’s not doing that, she can be found cheating on her to-be-read pile with new books that caught her eye, curating top notch Spotify playlists, spending time outside with her dogs, and trading new restaurant recs with friends.
