Benjamin Desmond

Ben Desmond is an active-duty Naval Officer and has served aboard guided missile cruisers and destroyers as a Surface Warfare Officer, and also earned an M.A. in English from Georgetown University in 2012, after which he served as a member of the U.S. Naval Academy English Department faculty. Upon completion of his PhD, he will rejoin the Naval Academy English Department as a permanent member of the faculty. His academic interests include modern and postmodern narrative strategies with a special focus on mortality, trauma, and war.
