Anna Szczepaniec-Bialas

Anna Szczepaniec-Bialas is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Professional Writing Program at the University of Maryland, College Park. She holds an M. A. in English Studies from the University of Silesia in Poland, where she was born. She has lived in South Africa and traveled abroad extensively. She is bilingual in Polish and English. She has taught English as a Foreign and Second Language as well as Polish as a Foreign Language. She has also taught College Composition, Developmental Writing, and ESL College Composition at Howard Community College. Additionally, when the opportunity arises, she does some freelance translating and interpreting. A natural extension of her interests in languages includes fostering the global competency skills of students for application in a globalized world. She spends her free time reading, watching foreign films, and traveling.
