ENGL479F The Plays, Screenplays and Teleplays of Aaron Sorkin

This course will look at Sorkin’s work over the last 30 years. We shall consider all his devices and desires, looking for what breeds about his heart. The point is to learn the Sorkin technique so that you can think more clearly about your own writing. Each student in the course will write her or his own pilot teleplay, screenplay, or stage play. Students must use professional formatting software for this. Students will also write an additional 25 pages of papers on various topics. There will also be two quizzes.
