Join us for the Writers Here & Now event with with alums Meg Eden & Marlena Chertock.

Meg Eden is a 2020 Pitch Wars mentee. Her work is published or forthcoming in magazines including Prairie Schooner, The Rumpus, Poetry Northwest, Crab Orchard Review, RHINO and CV2. She teaches creative writing courses and has taught at a range of places, including Anne Arundel Community College, Southern New Hampshire University online, University of Maryland College Park, Eckleburg Workshops, and The Writer's Center in Bethesda since 2013. She also formerly worked as the advertising manager at AWP. She is the author of five poetry chapbooks, the novel "Post-High School Reality Quest”  (2017) and the poetry collection “Drowning in the Floating World” (2020). She is also a participating author with the PEN/Faulkner Writers in Schools program, and is the webinar coordinator for the SCBWI MD/DE/WV region.

Marlena Chertock has two books of poetry, Crumb-sized: Poems (Unnamed Press) and On that one-way trip to Mars (Bottlecap Press). She uses her skeletal dysplasia as a bridge to scientific poetry. Marlena serves as Co-Chair of OutWrite, Washington, D.C.'s annual LGBTQ literary festival, and on the Board of Split This Rock, a nonprofit that cultivates poetry that bears witness to injustice and provokes social change. A 2020 Pushcart Prize nominee, her poetry and prose has appeared in Breath & Shadow, The Deaf Poets Society, Paper Darts, Rogue Agent, Wordgathering, and more.
