On March 15 in Annapolis, Emily Saunders Plummer (1815-1876) was posthumously inducted into the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame 2018. Leigh Ryan has researched Plummer’s life as an enslaved woman. She nominated Plummer and spoke at the induction.
On March 27, Leigh Ryan presented “Archival Research: Using the Past to Speak to the Present” at the 2018 HBCUs and Composition Conference at Howard University.
