Tita Chico Awarded Fellowship at Institute of English Studies, Among Other Accomplishments

Congratulations to Tita Chico who was recently awarded a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Institute of English Studies, housed in the University of London’s Institute for Advanced Studies. Continue on to read more about Tita's latest accomplishments!

This spring, she published “Eighteenth-Century Science and the Literary Imagination” in A Companion to British Literature: Volume III, The Long Eighteenth Century, 1660-1837, edited by Robert DeMaria, Jr., Heesok Chang, and Samantha Zacher (New York and London: Wiley, 2014), as well as a “Critical Conversation,” “Civil Society and Its Discontents: The Good Life,” in The Eighteenth Century: Theory and Interpretation (55.1 [spring 2014]). Chico was invited to Southern Methodist University to deliver a talk, “Coquettes and Science,” in their Gilbert Lecture Series, and to the CUNY Graduate Center to speak on “The Radical Public University (The University as an Object of Knowledge).” She recently gave a paper, “Quantum Physics / Gulliver’s Travels,” at the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, in addition to papers at the Northeast Modern Language Association and Chawton House Library (UK).
