Student Awards 2011-2012

The following students have been recognized for their excellent work during the 2011-2012 school year.

Decisions have been made regarding the 2011-2012 CTE Distinguished Teaching Assistant awards for English.  The winners are Isabella Cooper, Amanda Dykema, Michael Gossett, Amy Katzel, and Nancy Stewart.

The winners of the James A. Robinson awards for 2011 are Heather Lindenman (for excellence in teaching academic writing) and Sarah Sillin (for excellence in teaching literature).

The MFA Program in Creative Writing is pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Stanley Plumly Thesis Award in Poetry.  The poetry faculty has selected Adam Binkley's manuscript RABBIT RABBIT.

Rob Wakeman has won the 2012 Kinnaird Prize for his essay, "A Calendar of Seasonal Discontent for Shepherds, Lover, and Other Petty Gods."
 
Rebecca Lush has won the 2012 Alice L. Geyer prize for her essay,"The "Other" Woman: Early Modern English representations of Native American Women, 1579-1690."

Laura Lauth has won the 2012 Carl Bode Prize for her dissertation entitled, "Strange and Absurd Words"': Translation as Ethics and Poetics in the Transcultural U.S, 1830-1915."
