Scott Wible Elected to the CCCC Executive Committee

Congratulations to Professor Scott Wible, who was elected this summer to the Executive Committee of the Conference on College Composition and Communication.

Professor Wible, the Director of the Professional Writing Program, will serve a three-year term through 2015.  He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in rhetorical theory, composition studies, and professional writing. His research exploring the intersection of language diversity, rhetorical education, and public policy has appeared in College Composition and Communication, College English, Rhetoric Society Quarterly, and Cultural Studies, and his book Shaping Language Policy in the U.S.: The Role of Composition Studies, which analyzes the political and educational implications of the Conference on College Composition and Communication’s language policy statements, is forthcoming from Southern Illinois University Press.

The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) supports and promotes the teaching and study of college composition and communication by 1) sponsoring meetings and publishing scholarly materials for the exchange of knowledge about composition, composition pedagogy, and rhetoric; 2) supporting a wide range of research on composition, communication, and rhetoric; 3) working to enhance the conditions for learning and teaching college composition and to promote professional development; and 4) acting as an advocate for language and literacy education nationally and internationally.  Congratulations to Professor Wible.
