Scott Wible Delivers Keynote Address

In late October, Scott Wible delivered a keynote address at the Thomas R. Watson Conference at the University of Louisville.

In late October Scott Wible delivered a keynote address at the Thomas R. Watson Conference at the University of Louisville. Building on the conference theme, "Mobility Work in Composition: Translation, Migration, Transformation," Wible's talk examined his two-year collaboration with the University of Maryland Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to teach creative problem-solving methodologies in the professional writing classroom.In mid-November, Scott Wible served on the National Council of Teachers of English Resolutions Committee. In addition to preparing three resolutions submitted from the NCTE membership for discussion and voting at the annual NCTE business meeting, the five-person committee also drafted the "Resolution on Contemporary Discourse in the English Language Arts Classroom," which was unanimously approved at the business meeting and will be voted on by the full NCTE membership in the coming months.Scott Wible chaired the Graduate Research Award committee of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing, which selected three graduate students in professional writing studies to present their research projects on a showcase panel at the 2017 ATTW Conference.
