Randy Ontiveros and Sharada Balachandran Orihuela at Latina/o Studies Association Conference

Randy Ontiveros and Sharada Balachandran Orihuela served as members of the site committee for the Latina/o Studies Association’s biennial conference, which was held this past July 11-14 at the Marriott Wardman Hotel in Washington, DC.

Themed “Latinx Studies Now,” the conference had over 500 participants and included academic papers, poetry readings, films, professionalization workshops, activist panels, a book exhibition, music, and dancing.
