Professor Levine's essay was recently published in Jim Crow, Literature, and the Legacy of Sutton E. Griggs. He also gave lectures and chaired a roundtable.
Bob Levine's essay on Edward Everett Hale's and Sutton E. Griggs’s "Men without a Country" has just been published in the collection Jim Crow, Literature, and the Legacy of Sutton E. Griggs (University of George Press). He has recently given lectures on Frederick Douglass at Texas A&M and Wesleyan, and he chaired a roundtable on "Political Melville?" at the American Studies Association conference.
