Sheila presented a paper titled, "Maurice Samuel's Thick Translations: Salvage Poetics in the World of Sholem Aleichem" at the 22nd annual JAHLIT (Jewish American Holocaust Literature) Conference in Miami Florida, from November 13-15.

Sheila presented a paper titled, "Maurice Samuel's Thick Translations: Salvage Poetics in the World of Sholem Aleichem" at the 22nd annual JAHLIT (Jewish American Holocaust Literature) Conference in Miami Florida, from November 13-15.She will chair a session at the 48th Annual Association for Jewish Studies in San Diego California from December 18-20th titled "High and Low Jewish Literary Cultures."A book Sheila has been co-editing with Eliyana Adler of Penn State University, titled "Reconstructing the Old Country: American Jewry in the Post-Holocaust Decades" was recently submitted to Wayne State for Publication and will be released in Spring 2017.A review essay titled "The Politics of Jewishness in Contemporary World Literature"  will be published in "Religion and Literature" in Summer 2017.
