Nabila Hijazi's Accomplishments

Nabila Hijazi recently gave two presentations and won several awards.

She was awarded the Ann G. Wylie Dissertation Fellowship for 2019-2020. She also was awarded First Place prize under the category "Interdisciplinary Research from Social Sciences" for research excellence at UMD Graduate Research Appreciation Day (GRAD) 2019 conference. Lastly, she was a finalist for Adele's Circle of Women 2019 Scholarship.

In March 2019 at the Conference on College Composition and Communication Convention (CCCC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she presented “Women Refugees: Performance of Literacies and Shared Agencies.” Also in March 2019, she presented “Bodies in Motion: Corporeality, Migrants, and Refugees” at the Northeast Modern Language Association Conference (NeMLA) in Washington DC.
