Michael Olmert lectured on “18th Century Architecture and the Creation of Sacred Spaces,”

Olmert also co-wrote a television documentary on shark communication, called Shark Storm,  for Discovery Channel's "Shark Week," July 27, 2017.

He co-curated an exhibition on four centuries of Talbot County, MD., Architectural History, for the Talbot Historical Society Museum, April to June 2017. Also gave the exhibition's opening talk, April 8, 2017, at the Neall House (1809), Easton, April 8, 2017. Olmert is on the board of the Talbot County, Md., Historical Society.

He also gave two lectures on “Architecture, Art, and Social History in St. Michael's,” to St. Michael’s High School history students, which included a walking tour of the town's building and discussions social history and the early life of Frederick Douglass, on April 28 and May 19, 2017.

Olmert was also a talkback panelist, after a performance of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, at The Clarice Center, University of Maryland, February 12, 2017.
