Martha Nell Smith will be lecturing on “Emily Dickinson for the 21st Century: Reading and Harvard’s ‘Frankenstein’ Edition,” for the 25th Dickinson Birthday Celebration, Lone Star College, Conroe, Texas, December 8, 2016. This annual event attracts diverse audiences from the surrounding area.Smith is also consulting with the Morgan Library, NYC, for their “I’m Nobody! Who Are You? The Life and Poetry of Emily Dickinson” Exhibition running January 20 through May 21, 2017. Her Open Me Carefully: Emily Dickinson’s Intimate Letters with Susan Huntington Dickinson has been a key resource as the Morgan plans their exhibition.In January, Smith will participate in a roundtable on “Digital Frost” at the MLA Convention, where she will also chair a panel on “Queer Domesticities” for the Sexuality Studies Committee. She becomes chair of the committee at the convention.
