Laura Rosenthal Receives the College of Arts and Humanities 2012 Faculty Service Award

July 12, 2012 English

The award recognizes Professor Rosenthal's innovative service contributions to the College.

On June 20, 2012, Bonnie Thornton Dill, Dean of the College of the Arts and Humanities, recognized the service contributions of Professor Rosenthal, who was chosen from among many worthy nominees across the College to receive the award.  Professor Rosenthal has served on the College Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee for the past two years, and created and has chaired the Arts and Humanities Committee on Student Learning for the last three years.  In both positions she has represented the highest standards of service from a faculty member to the University of Maryland.  Indeed, Professor Rosenthal's work on Learning Outcomes Assessment has been nationally recognized, and has encouraged colleagues to think expansively about the fundamental mission of university education in the humanities: what it means for students and how best for faculty to help achieve it.  Congratulations and thanks to Professor Rosenthal!
