The MFA Program in Creative Writing is pleased to announce our nominees for the Intro Journals Project (2020).
This is an annual literary competition for the discovery and publication of the best new work by students currently enrolled in AWP (Association of Writers & Writing Programs) member programs.
Nominee in fiction:
“You’re Doing It Wrong” by Elizabeth Nonemaker
Nominees in poetry:
“We Have Had Our Fill of Punishment” by Hannah Beilenson
“Bad Aesthetic” by Max Lasky
“What Came From Stone” by Ayesha Shibli
Congratulations to Elizabeth, Hannah, Max, and Ayesha, whose work has been sent on for final judging in the national competition. Winners will be notified in the spring of 2020 and will receive publication in a participating literary journal (Colorado Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, Mid-American Review, Puerto del Sol, Quarterly West, Tahoma Literary Review, Tampa Review) and a $100 honorarium.
