Doug Kern and Brittany Boyd of the Writing Center Present at the Northeast Writing Center Association

Doug Kern, Writing Center Assistant Director, and Brittany Boyd, Writing Center tutor, presented at the Northeast Writing Center Association (NEWCA) conference in Smithfield, RI on March 1.

Their talk was entitled "'Say It the Way You Say It To Yo Momma': Using Narrative in Writing Centers as a Step Towards Language Acceptance in Universities."  NEWCA honored Doug with the Robert J. Connors Memorial Scholarship and Brittany with a NEWCA Scholarship Award.
