DeLisa Hawkes to Participate in National Endowment for the Humantities Summer Institute
DeLisa Hawkes, a doctoral student in the Department, will participate in the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute for College Teachers on Paul Laurence Dunbar and American Literary History. Hawkes, under the guidance of leading scholars on Dunbar, will examine his influential role in American literature and Harlem Renaissance literature while considering the complexities of race and dialect during the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries.
