Danuta Hinc was in conversation with Michael Scott Moore about his bestselling memoir, "The Desert and the Sea: 977 Days Captive on the Somali Pirate Coast."

The conversation was a part of ENGL398R, Writing Non-Fictional Narratives and was funded by a Beyond the Classroom grant. The event was structured on student-centered discussion on constructing convincing narratives based on investigative journalism, where history, politics, and piracy become the background and purpose of writing.
