Daniel Powell (B.A. in English Language and Literature, 2001) has been elected a 2018 Hawthornden Fellow for his short story, "Runaways," from his collection-in-progress, Fo(u)nd Memories.  He will spend a month at Scotland's Hawthornden Castle, where he'll finish the collection and work on a novel
