The Faculty Research & Writing Group convened by Verlyn Flieger, Peter Grybauskas, and Christopher Crane shared recent findings with one another.

Projects for the academic year 2016-2017 include:

  • Verlyn Flieger: Forthcoming essay anthology: “There Would Always Be a Fairy Tale”: Essays on Tolkien; and an essay on Tolkien: “The Eye of the Beholder: Tolkien and the invocation of Wonder”

  • Peter Grybauskas: two essays: "'Green Hill Country': A Scholar's Tale, and "Tolkien, Eddison, and the Enigma of the Untold Story"

    Christopher Crane: Anthology: Iluvatar's Gift: Life and Death in the Works of J.R.R. Tolkien

The group looks forward to continuing its discussions for 2017-2018.
