The 7th Annual Graduate English Organization's (GEO) conference took place on Saturday, March 8th to much success.

From the Graduate Studies Office: The 7th Annual Graduate English Organization’s (GEO) conference took place on Saturday, 8 March, under the theme of “Trespassing(s).” Co-sponsored by GEO, the Graduate Student Government, and the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies, the conference featured more than twenty academic papers and creative presentations of exceptionally high caliber delivered by graduate students from UMD and other universities, as well as three inspiring keynote lectures moderated by Professor Scott Trudell and delivered by Professors Theresa Coletti, Sharada Balachandran Orihuela, and Christopher Hazlett (in absentia). Rewarded with an excellent turnout by both students and faculty, the intellectually engaging panels were complemented by stimulating conversations over a luncheon and a dinner reception in the 2nd Floor Foyer of Tawes Hall. Congratulations and thanks to all those who worked so hard in making this conference such a spectacular success, in particular the GEO conference co-chairs, Nicholas Slaughter and Daniel Kason, as well as the members of the GEO conference committee, Danielle Allor, Elise Auvil, Susie Compton, Tim DeMay, Kirk Greenwood, Andrea Knowles, and Lindsey O’Neil! Ralph Bauer, Director of Graduate Studies.
