Over the past eight years he has taught a range of writing courses such as Academic Writing, Advanced Composition, Writing for the Health Professions, and Writing for Change. He served as Assistant Director for the Academic Writing Program and as Editor-in-Chief of Interpolations: A Journal of Academic Writing. He has also taught courses in Creative Writing and Creative Nonfiction at Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Justin also has a background in ESL and has taught middle and high school English at Colegio Sagrados Corazones in Spain. Justin is a frequent presenter at the Conference on College Composition and Communication (4C's) and has a collaborative essay accepted at Reflections and another under review at Community Literacy Journal. In both pieces, he and co-writer Heather Lindenman (Assistant Professor at Elon U), reflect on different aspects of teaching community literacy courses. Justin is also part of a four-person qualitative research team that examines student revision and reflection practices. He has presented on his findings at the 4C's and is working with his collaborators on composing an essay based on this research.

Justin is a creative and innovative teacher, a thoughtful administrator, and a top-notch researcher who has contributed significantly to our writing programs.

Please join me in thanking Jessica Enoch and Doug Kern for nominating Justin -- and in congratulating Justin!
