Brian Richardson was a Scholar in Residence at the University of Bologna during spring semester.

At the University of Venice in early March, he presented a talk on “Unnatural Narratives: Theory and Practice.” At the end of March, he spoke on the impossible narrative of Robert Coover’s “The Babysitter,” organized and chaired a panel on unnatural narratives in literary history, and co-organized the Narrative Theory Panels at the International Narrative conference at MIT. In April he spoke on “Reading in (and after) Conrad” at the University of Warsaw.
