Professor Robert Levine is the 2013 recipient of the Jay B. Hubbell Medal for lifetime achievement in American literary scholarship from the American Literature Section of the Modern Language Association.

This prize is given each year to a scholar who has made an extraordinary contribution to the study of American literature over the course of his or her career.

You can read more about the Hubbell Medal and past recipients here: http://als-mla.org/HubbellMedal.htm

Bob would be happy if any friends and colleagues from the University of Maryland who are attending the MLA convention in Chicago wanted to attend the ceremony. It is Friday, January 10, 2014, 7:00–8:15 p.m. at the Chicago Marriott (Clark Room), during the American Literature Section's cash bar (Session #422A).

Congratulations, Bob on this great honor!
