Sununu Bah, an English major, helped start UMD's first Black Student Newspaper. The paper is called The Black Explosion and it is funded by the Nyumburu Cultural Center. Sununu is one of the co-editor-in-chiefs. There are two other English majors who are staff writers: Briana Briscoe & Mecca Mustafa.
