2018 National Book Award Finalist: Elizabeth Acevedo

Elizabeth Acevedo's novel, The Poet X, has been announced as a finalist for the 2018 National Book Award for Young People's Literature.
Elizabeth Acevedo is an alumna of the University of Maryland's MFA-Poetry program. She graduated in 2016, and she last returned in December of 2017 to participate in the Writers Here and Now Alumni Book Launch and reading.
