Fatima Seck is a PhD student in Comparative Literature. She received her B.A. in Biology and French Literature from West Virginia University, and her M.A. in French and Francophone Literature from George Mason University. Her M.A. thesis examined the works of Senegalese women authors writing in French and Wolof, focusing on their orientation and reception within the Francophone literary field.

Currently her research focuses on art forms that can do the work of expressing the in-expressible, &/or where language fails to articulate an inter/intra- connected way of living and being. Her areas of interest include Sub-Saharan Literature, Caribbean Literature, Postcolonial Literature, French & Francophone Literature, African American Literature and Digital Humanities.
