Al Favilla

Alyson ("Al") Favilla (they/them) is a PhD student from San Diego and New York. They hold a BS in Environmental Science from Cornell University, an MPhil in Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin, and an MFA in Poetry from the University of Mississippi. Al’s work has explored the environmental imagination of James Joyce, the ecological anxieties of the Northern Irish poet Derek Mahon, and the life-worlds of salamanders, earthworms, and more. Their current scholarly interests center on modernist poetry, environmental disaster, and studies in New Materialism.
