UMD English Wins 6 Innovation Grants

Congratulations to the recipients of the Teaching Innovation Grants.

The grants were among 51 Innovation Grants awarded by the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost across 12 ARHU departments and one Living-Learning Honors Program. These teaching grants allowed faculty members to spend the summer exploring new tools, technology and pedagogies in the Fall 2020 semester.

Congratulations to the Department of English Recipients

Merle Collins, professor and director of the Latin American Studies Center: Grant with the Office of International Affairs’ Global Classrooms Connections program to expand faculty support for re-designing courses to include global engagement with international university partners

Jessica Enoch, professor and director of academic writing: Grant for the Academic Writing Program

Gabrielle Fuentes, assistant professor creative writing: Grant for creative writing (CRWR) workshops

Jason Rudy, professor: Grant for the honors programs in the Departments of English, American Studies and Art History 

Scott Trudell, associate professor: ENGL 301, “This is English: Fields and Methods” 

Scott Wible, associate professor, director of professional writing: Grant for the Professional Writing Program
