Writers Here and Now: Virtual Alumni Reading

Join a virtual reading featuring two alumni of the MFA Program, William Fargason and Nicolette Polek.

William Fargason's debut poetry collection, Love Song to the Demon-Possessed Pigs of Gadara (University of Iowa Press, April 2020), was selected by Brenda Shaughnessy as the winner of the 2019 Iowa Poetry Prize. His poetry has appeared in The Threepenny Review, Prairie Schooner, New England Review, Barrow Street, Narrative, and elsewhere. He earned a BA in English from Auburn University, an MFA in poetry from the University of Maryland, and a PhD in poetry from Florida State University. He is the poetry editor of Split Lip Magazine and lives in Tallahassee, FL. You can read more about Will and his work on his website.

Nicolette Polek is a writer from Cleveland, OH. She earned a BA from Bennington College and an MFA in fiction from the University of Maryland and is the recipient of the 2019 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Award. Her debut collection of stories, Imaginary Museums, was published by Soft Skull Press in January of 2020. Nicolette currently lives in College Park, MD, where she's working on a novel.
