Description

This section of English 301 will closely follow the description of the course provided on the English Department’s Undergraduate Studies webpage:
http://www.english.umd.edu/academics/undergraduate/engl301/description.  We will focus on methods of reading and analyzing literary texts and writing academic prose about literature.  Readings will include poetry, drama, and prose fiction, selected from the broad expanses of English and American literatures.  Formal requirements include frequent writing, including 3 or 4 papers, an in-class presentation, and regular class participation.
