The Annual Health Insurance Open Enrollment period for the plan year July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 will be conducted from April 17, 2012 to May 1, 2012. Open Enrollment will close from May 2nd through May 8th, and then reopen May 9th through May 16th for corrections and additional enrollments.
If you are not making changes to your coverage and you do not intend to participate in a flexible spending account, you do not need to do anything during Open Enrollment period. Your current coverage will roll over to the new plan year.
During the open enrollment period, eligible employees and graduate assistants may make changes to insurance coverage, add or delete spouses, partners, or dependents, and enroll in a flexible spending account for the period July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. Regular status Faculty, Staff and Graduate Assistants that intend to change coverage, or re-enroll in a flexible spending account, must use the State's Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
The IVR numbers are: 1-888-578-6434, ND 1-410-669-3893 (TTY 1-410-333-5244). The IVR line is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week during Open enrollment, between 12:01 a.m. on April 17, 2012, and 11:59 p.m. on May 1, 2012 and the same times from May 9, 2012 to May 16, 2012.
The State of Maryland Employee Benefits Division has released the health benefit premiums for the new plan year beginning July 1, 2012.

Please note: new enrollments can occur within 60 days of your start date or once a year during open enrollment. At other times, you can only change your benefits if there is a change in circumstances such as loss of coverage somewhere else, marriage, birth, etc.
Nine-month over 22 pay employees, who are expected to return to employment for the fall semeser, are required to have multiple benefit deductions taken from earnings paid during the spring semester to cover insurance premiums over the summer months. These multiple deductions will be taken from the last paycheck for the spring semester (pay date June 8, 2012). This year there will be four deductions for the coverage in summer months. Total amount of deductions = your regular premium x 5.
If you are a 9-month employee paid over 22 pays, please notify us of your status in the fall semester by compoleting the form below.
